The use of ‘power over’

Listening to indigenous people and groups who traditionally live on the land has opened up a lot of reflection around the destruction of these communities.

If you’ve heard me speak then you know I refer to  mainstream society as Domination Culture where the few have the power to punish the many, in a top down hierarchical system of organising:

‘When you set out to impose unwelcome change on people without genuine consultation (not voting) and expect them to comply without a fuss that’s Domination Culture in action’

Now let’s consider how often that happens in communities, families and workplaces, so we can understand why we desperately need dialogue.

Maria’s Midweek Mindfulness

I’m feeling a call towards hearing more from indigenous people to connect with the spirituality of living in harmony with nature.

The Wednesday Whisper

How do you connect to nature? Can you listen to the land and hear the water?
