Summer has arrived, enjoy it while it’s here.
The weekend was a scorcher and this week is set to be warm. The last two weeks at Dartmoor prison were a great success and our three charity shops are doing very well. I can’t think of anything to blog about except gratitude.
This is one of those peak periods where everything is working, there are no immediate disturbances and things are going well. So, when these times are upon me, I like to take time to savour the feelings.
At the same time, I’m aware that among family, friends, work and across the planet there are disturbances, disasters and disorder which need to be navigated and healed. Rolling with life’s difficulties can be overwhelming and feel insurmountable.
Being in gratitude is not about looking at the bright side of things nor is it acknowledging that things could be worse. Gratitude is not based on a set of circumstances. It is an attitude. A state of gratitude reveals unseen blessings and the practice of gratitude brings its own treasures.
Maria’s Midweek Mindfulness
In this state of gratitude, I’m remembering all the times I forgot to have gratitude and reminding myself to practice this attitude.
The Wednesday Whisper
When was the last time you consciously practised gratitude?
Are you interested in participating in a year-long training or do you know anyone you can pass this onto?
And, as ever, would you be willing to send this out to anyone you think might be interested in getting a little dose of mindfulness each week?
