Dear Ms Braverman
Never before have I written to a Cabinet Minister. Today I woke up and decided to make you an offer.
It seems that you hold some views about the poorest and most vulnerable people in our society that I find difficult to understand, so here’s my offer.
I invite you to come to the London Borough of Brent, where I live and help me to understand your thinking so I can find the love for you that is currently missing in my heart.
While you’re explaining it to me, we’ll take a walk around parts of Harlesden, Kilburn, Willesden and Neasden and say hello to some people on the streets.
They will talk to you about how they are affected and as we sit down for a cup of tea with them we will talk about what it takes to find love for each other in our common humanity because, I hope you agree that no one is ‘less than’.
