Is paved with good intentions

It’s a famous saying, ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions’ but what does it really mean?

My interpretation is that it is not enough for someone to make a plan or a promise, they must also do those things and tend to the execution.

This requires us to pay attention to the agreements we are making, keep our word and execute our agreement with mindful practice.

Good intentions can still manifest ugly and inedible fruit. Tending to the seed with love and diligence is most likely to grow a beautiful bloom.

Many arguments arise because the gap between intention and action was miles apart.

Maria’s Mindfulness Moment

Attending to self love and self care means that I can be present to the agreements I make and realistically predict my ability to fulfil them before committing.

The Wednesday Whisper

What agreements have you made that bore bad fruit even when the intentions were honourable?
