Maria’s Midweek Mindfulness Moments

How’s your week so far?

Mine is full and as inspiring as usual. Trying to fit everything in is sometimes a struggle, especially when every project is compelling. If you have similar qualities to me, and you like things done in a particular way, this can be both rewarding and demanding in equal measure.

Over the years I’ve developed strategies that enable me to break down large projects into bite-size pieces. The art of bringing all of the segments together, the relationships I’ve built through collaborations and the love of what I do brings me great joy. The other side is that occasionally I put myself too far into the future, focussing on the deadline or the goal, and I don’t make time to acknowledge the value of the process. Do you recognise this?

The process is where life happens.

A random thought struck me whilst I was admiring a bunch of spring flowers. A tiny bud waiting to burst into the light is no less significant than a vibrant petal or a full blossom. Each stage is honoured by nature and given the space to develop.

In an ideal world with no time constraints or deadlines, it be wonderful if we could always take the time to celebrate what we do. To actually observe the processes that we experience rather than the product. I intend to take a moment today to acknowledge and mark all that I have achieved so far this week. I invite you to do the same?

Ask yourself at what point is a flower or your project complete?

With love, light and gratitude. Maria Arpa -x-
